Regarding the Dr. Seuss Lorax Forest, aka Francis Marion National Forest in South Carolina, USA

The Dr. Seuss Lorax Forest, which is actually part of the Francis Marion National Forest in South Carolina, a national forest devastated by hurricanes, is being reforested by Dr. Seuss fans.  One tree can be paid for by donating $2.95 to Dr Seuss Lorax Forest, Green Gems USA, P.O. Box 6007, Healdsburg CA 95448-6007 or call 1(800)431-7645.  In return, donors will receive a packet of crabapple seeds, Lorax stickers and a certificate of appreciation but only $1 of their payment would be used to plant a tree.  Environmentalists complain the fuzzy yellow critter is helping a nonprofit group that they say advocates clear-cutting forests.  Click here for more information. The Chase Group, Chicago, offers “The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss, a lithograph in an edition of 2,500, ($225), with a 12- by 9-inch image. Print sales support Global ReLeaf’s Dr. Seuss Lorax Forest in South Carolina.  Print purchasers will be honored with a tree planted in their name, and will receive a “Lorax Helper Kit.” For more details, call (888) 224-2731, fax (773) 404-9042.
